The Perfect Burger
Day 7 of the #MonthOfMeatChallenge is here! Have you ever gone to a restaurant and eaten what you thought was "The Perfect Burger"? Well, what I you could make that at home? I do...and I'm so glad I played around with ingredients until I found what we like. I'm not saying that I'm going to enter into a contest for The Best Burger In The World or anything. Is there even such a thing? I bet there is...but I don't plan to enter it. What I do like is the fact that in my opinion and where my family is concerned...The Perfect Burger...is right here. Let me share with you what I do to create our perfect burger. Maybe it will be your favorite too...or maybe you can tweak it to be perfect for you.
Make sure to start with perfect ground beef. My idea of perfect ground beef is lean, pasture-raised and from our own pasture. Your perfect beef might be different than my idea and that's okay. Make sure it's good quality though and that you know where it came from (i.e. purchased it from a local rancher or farmer if possible). Also, DO NOT thaw your burger out in the microwave.....YIKES!!!! I am saying this now and am being bold about it, but mark my words...I'm about to cart my microwave out to the dump and get rid of it. The only thing I use it for anymore is to melt butter or to warm up a cup of coffee. Now that I sit here and think about it...I believe I will get rid of it. I don't like food cooked in it and I honestly think it's most likely not good for us health wise. What a thing to think after I've used one for 25+ years. Well, one thing about aging...we know our own minds and we don't really care what other people think. Oh, and another reason that I don't need this microwave anymore is because of my new Air Fryer...oh man, what a life changer this thing has become. So funny...I drug my feet for over a year in buying one. In less than 2 weeks it's become a staple for me in my kitchen. Do you have one? Do you love it too? If you don't have one have you thought about getting one? If so...in my opinion, it's a must!
Okay, onto the recipe:
The Perfect Burger
I use 1 1/2 pounds as that is how we have our ground beef packaged. Use whatever works for you.
Add finely chopped onions, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and whatever burger seasoning you like. This time I used Weber's Gourmet Burger Seasoning. Mix well with your hands...a spoon just doesn't cut it.
Make your burgers. I make 5 out of this to give you an idea of size. Here's a pic of my burgers before grilled.
Make sure your grill is nice and hot. I set our to 350 degrees. We love our Traeger. In fact, we use it so much that this is our 3rd one in about 10 years! Anyway, get your burgers on your grill and set your timer. I do 12 minutes per side. My guys also like Pepper Jack cheese melted on theirs. I'm more of a hamburger gal and not so much a cheeseburger gal so I don't put cheese on mine. For theirs, I add a slice of cheese to each burger, turn off the grill, and let them sit for 2 minutes. That's it...the best thing ever and truly so simple. I hope you enjoy this recipe or create one to your liking. Everyone deserves to be able to enjoy their Perfect Burger right in the comfort of their own home. Enjoy! ~Cheyenne
PS. The zucchini you see as my side...was cooked in my Air Fryer (this should come as no surprise). I'm telling you...SO simple, SO tasty, SO awesome!! :)
